Meet the Breeder

My name is Raven, and I am the heart behind Krypton K9’s.

I was born and raised a country girl, and my connection to animals started at a very young age. Growing up on a farm, I was surrounded by a wide range of animals, which gave me a natural understanding of their behavior, care, and needs early on. As I got older, I continued to build on that foundation by working in veterinary clinics and volunteering with animals, including time spent in zoo environments throughout my college years.

My connection to the Cane Corso is also rooted in my heritage. My family is from Sicily, where the breed originated, and I grew up hearing stories from my grandmother about the dogs being used as protectors on our family vineyard. Those stories, combined with my own experience and passion for animals, played a major role in drawing me to the breed and shaping the program I have built today.

Outside of breeding, I work in healthcare and also own a home renovation business. Both paths have shaped my work ethic, attention to detail, and discipline, which I bring into my breeding program every day.

I am a dedicated hobby breeder, focused on breed preservation and prioritizing quality over quantity. I do not believe in raising dogs in outdoor kennels or operating large scale programs with high numbers. My dogs are raised in my home as part of the family. They are closely integrated into daily life with my son, spend time around visiting family including my nephews and niece, and are well socialized with other animals, including our cat, Pumpkin. They are also exposed to different environments and livestock through regular visits to my father’s nearby farm.

My focus within the breed is on producing true to type Cane Corsos with correct structure, proper toplines, balanced proportions, and correct movement. I strongly prefer correct head types and avoid exaggerated features often seen from inaccurate outcross influences, such as overly short muzzles or bulldog or boxer traits. I am not breeding for oversized trends or excessively heavy dogs. Instead, I prioritize lean, muscular, athletic Corsos that are agile, versatile, and capable of working as the breed was originally intended.

I do not follow trends or breed for off standard or fad colors. My program stays aligned with recognized breed standards, and I avoid producing colors that are the result of recent outcrossing, such as merle, which is not a naturally occurring or accepted Cane Corso color. My priority remains the preservation of correct type, health, and integrity of the breed.

All of my dogs are temperament tested and carefully evaluated, and each puppy is matched accordingly to the right home, whether that be family environments, farms, or working homes. My dogs are consistently excelling in areas such as family protection, obedience, bite work and protection, as well as conformation showing.

I believe in proving my dogs, not just producing them. My dogs have been shown and titled in the conformation ring, earning championships, grand championships, and international titles, along with top dog rankings in both Europe and Canada.

I dedicate a significant amount of time to ongoing research, pedigree analysis, and continued education, and I am always willing to adjust and refine my program as needed to better align with my long term vision for the breed.

Cane Corso breeding is not just something I do. It is something I am deeply committed to. I am constantly learning, growing, and refining my program with the goal of producing healthy, stable, well structured dogs that stay true to the breed’s purpose and history.

This is more than a passion for me. It is a long term commitment to doing right by a breed I have deep respect for.
